AWENS Awards

We have given and we have received!

AWENS wins national award

In 2006 AWENS received the Award of Excellence for Municipal Workplace Literacy Achievements from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA).

This national award recognizes educators, practitioners, and organizations/partners that excel in the area of Essential Skills and Literacy Skills Programs.

The evaluation team members stated, “We were very impressed with their accomplishments, ability to motivate partners and the work environment, and their commitment.”

Instructor Recognition Awards

To acknowledge and encourage excellence in instructional practices AWENS offers an annual award that recognizes an instructor who promotes lifelong learning through instructional practices, a commitment to learners and support to workplace education.

Individuals receiving the award meet the criteria set out in four main categories:

  1. Understanding and using the workplace context
  2. Partnerships in learning
  3. Instructional excellence
  4. Involvement in the Nova Scotia Workplace Education Initiative.
